MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 363

[SoundCloud]
Welcome to the 363rd edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, the third of February. This week's puzzle is brought to you from the mind of world class Phish jam clip identifier, @PhreePhish. The winner will receive an MP3 download code courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the songs and dates of the two mystery clips – these clips are connected by a theme that need not be part of the correct answer. And yes, the second clip is so gorgeous I let it run for damn near two minutes! Each person gets one guess to start – if no one answers correctly in the first 24 hours, I'll post a hint. After the hint, everyone gets one more guess before Wednesday at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. Good luck!

Hint: The reason these clips are so familiar to @MiguelSanchez is probably the same reason @PhreePhish chose them.

Answer: Come stumble my mirth beaten teacher, we've got another five time winner– that's right, @ChalkDustTeacher saw it again (the hint) and now sits two Ws short of the promised land. This week, he realized that both @PhreePhish and @MiguelSanchez had seen these midwest gems: 8/16/11 "Limb by Limb" and 11/8/98 "Down with Disease," both played at the second night of runs at UIC Pavilion in Chicago. Come back next week to see us rolling in our MJM364.

JMart Usually I have some sort of idea about the year, even if I'm WAY too lazy to track it down. But that second jam, man. Great stuff. It's barely identifiable as Phish.

MiguelSanchez This 2nd one is driving me nuts. I know I have heard this before. I have skimmed through my initial suspects, and I seem to be striking out bigly.

Lol. I feel really good about the 2nd clip now, but that caused me to double back on the first one. I"ve losted all confidence in my initial thought for pick one.

MiguelSanchez Alright, I gotta call it a day. I'm bouncing around the right neighborhood but not 100%

Yeah when @PhreePhish rec’d that jam I didn’t remember it at all, but my jaw dropped when I heard it again. It’s far out but I do think it bears some similarity to some other brief moments across the canon, including the Mud Island Tweezer @MiguelSamchez mentioned (which is not correct).

Even if you look like an ass hole thinking Pete is trying to slip the Mud Island Tweezer by us it's still fun. Frustrating but fun.

Throw it out before the hint. If you're wrong, you'll get another guess when pete gets his sleepy ass in gear.
Yeah, I know you're at work Pete.

I’m thinking Quadrophonic Toppling 12/31/99 as #2 and #1 is hurting my head.

MiguelSanchez Shit. Time for a 2 hour meeting and am certain this will be won by someone before i'm out of it. I've done a quick scurry. I'm not overly confident but we may be dealing with two chicago jams.

DAMN FINE JOB!!

I forgot all about that Limb. I am not in a spot to check it but I'm almost certain you are right. I think we must've posted bang bang. I got that Disease and had to toss something out for that first jam. Shit, I even spot checked the Disease form that '11 UIC show too and still didnt' think about the Limb.

PhreePhish Well done! I was starting to feel like an evil genius for a while there!
I'll have to think of some more head-scratchers!

I've wanted o see that Limb By Limb in MJM forever! I remember I was 3rd row dead center for that show and was thinking to my self, 'This set is around the 80 minute mark already and now they're going type II with Limb?' And know one expects that from a 'typical 9 min Limb.' What a party of a show!

Chicago love!!
