Review by sanitynevercame

sanitynevercame I attended this one, in the ancient Roman arena in Arles. Perhaps the best setting in which I have seen the band. Hot and dusty under the early evening Mediterranean sun. It was the eve of Carlos' birthday, which energized the entire evening. The Runaway Jim opener was short but ferocious, completely hooking the French crowd, few of whom had ever heard of The Phish. The power went out after Foam and the band prepared to sing Sweet Adeline unamplified. The power came back just in time. Very solid, tight set.

During Santana's show he invited the whole band back out to jam in honor of his upcoming birthday. There was much joy to go around. Wish I had a recording of the Santana set.
