TREY:: [not legible while finishing “Catapult” dance] It’s funny though, too. This music kinds of make me think that…You know, they used to have music like this in the old days, when I was a young boy

FISH: A lad.

TREY: You know those days are gone, and i’m not making this up. When I was growing up... I am so old, “how old are you?” There was no cellular telephones when I was growing up, no video games when I was growing up. And, I was around for the invention of Pong, the first video game. It sounded something like this: Pong [Returns to guitar from “Catapult”] Yes, Pong.

And, let me tell you something about you crazy kids, with your video games. I see a lot of you out there with your iPhones, your DVDs, listening to your autotuned music. It’s all machines! But what I wanna ask you is when is the last time when you picked up a fucking book?

You know, I see you on the subway, sitting on the park benches, nobody reads anymore. And, I say to you, how are you ever going to learn anything if you don’t pick up a book? And I’m not just talking about any old book. I’m talking about The Book. I’m talking about The Book. The Book. Pick it up! Put down your iPhones, put down your DVD things.

We’re going to have an illiterate generation soon. But, the four of us where we came from, everything we learned came from a book, a special book, a magic book, a book filled with so much stuff, stuff crammed on every page, things thoughts feelings, love hate war, hunger salvation, happiness flowers, philosophy, philosophy that can make you live today, if you just picked up a book!

PICK IT UP! Pick up the book, pick it up! Because the book was written, it was written. The book was written, was written, on paper by by by pen on paper. The book was written by hand. The book was written by hand on paper with a pen. The book was written by candlelight by pen by hand by... the Great and Knowledgeable Icculus.
